Rina Sato lives in a small apartment building near the river. The lobby had an old shelf where people sometimes left books.

At first, the shelf was messy. Cookbooks were mixed with children's books, and one exercise book had a soup recipe inside it for no clear reason.

Rina asked the building manager if she could organize the shelf. She made simple sections: novels, children, cooking, and hobbies.

She also added a small notebook where people could write book recommendations. Soon, residents began leaving short comments.

An older man wrote, “This mystery novel made me miss my stop on the bus.” A child wrote, “The dinosaur book is good, but the dinosaur is rude.”

Rina says the shelf is not a library. It is a quiet place where neighbors can share a little curiosity.
