I Tried to Become a Morning Person
A short blog post about one brave attempt to wake up early.
Yesterday, I decided to become a morning person.
I watched three videos about successful people. They all woke up early, drank water, and smiled at the sun. I thought, "I can do that."
At night, I set five alarms. I also put my phone far from my bed. This was a smart plan. It was also a terrible plan.
At 5:30 a.m., the first alarm rang. I stood up, walked across the room, turned it off, and went back to bed. I do not remember this. My mother said I moved like a very tired ghost.
At 6:00, the second alarm rang. I opened one eye and said, "Good morning, future me." Then I slept again.
At 7:10, I finally woke up. The sun was already bright. My water bottle was still full. The sun did not look disappointed, but I felt it knew.
Today, I learned something important. Becoming a morning person may take more than one morning.
Tomorrow, I will try again. Maybe with four alarms. Five was too aggressive.
