Why I Keep a Small Notebook
A short essay explains how a small notebook helps organize everyday thoughts.
I keep a small notebook in my bag. It is not special or expensive. The cover is plain, and some pages are bent.
Still, the notebook is useful because it catches small thoughts before I forget them. I write homework reminders, new English words, train times, and ideas for weekend plans.
A phone can do the same thing, but a phone also offers games, messages, and many reasons to stop thinking. A notebook stays quiet.
Writing by hand also makes my thoughts slower in a good way. When I write a problem down, it often looks smaller than it felt in my head.
I do not write every day. I do not make beautiful pages. I just use the notebook when my mind feels crowded.
For me, a small notebook is like an extra pocket for thoughts.
