Library Opens Quiet Study Zone for Teens
A local library creates a quiet study area for students after school.
A public library has opened a new quiet study zone for teens. The area has long desks, desk lamps, and extra space for notebooks.
The library made the zone after many students asked for a place to study after school. Students can use the area from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays.
There are three simple rules. Phones must be on silent mode. Food is not allowed. Quiet questions are welcome.
"We want students to feel comfortable here," a librarian said. "They do not have to buy a drink or hurry home."
Some students already use the zone for homework and test preparation. One student said the space helped him focus because "everyone else looked serious."
The library will review the new area next month.
