Question: Do sticky notes move when nobody is watching?

Our team placed twenty sticky notes on the left wall of the classroom. Each note was numbered on a separate chart, not on the note itself, because the notes requested privacy.

The next morning, three notes were on the right wall. One was near the window, looking proud. Another was attached to the teacher's coffee mug.

We considered wind, weak glue, and student jokes. Wind was unlikely because the windows were closed. Weak glue was possible. Student jokes were very possible.

To test the idea, we watched the notes for ten minutes. Nothing happened. Then we turned around for five seconds. A pink note fell onto the floor.

Our conclusion: sticky notes may not migrate by themselves, but they are excellent at creating suspicion.
