Guide to the Underground Street with Too Many Exits

A travel guide explains how to enjoy an underground street with confusing exits.

Welcome to Minami Underground Street, a bright shopping area famous for snacks, umbrellas, and exits that appear when you stop trusting yourself.

The street has twenty-three exits. Exit 1 goes to the station. Exit 2 goes to a bus stop. Exit 3 goes to another sign that tells you about Exit 1.

Do not worry. The best way to enjoy this place is to choose landmarks, not numbers. The red column is near the bakery. The glass wall is near the flower shop. The tiny fountain is near the place where everyone checks their map twice.

If you get lost, walk slowly and look for the smell of fresh bread. It usually leads to the center corridor. If it leads to a shoe shop, you have discovered the west side by accident.

For lunch, try the noodle shop under the green ceiling. For souvenirs, buy a key chain shaped like an exit sign. It will not help you leave, but it will understand you.

Travel tip: set a meeting point before exploring. "Somewhere near Exit 12" is not a meeting point. It is a small adventure.
