Aquarium Fish Gives Weather Report
A fish at a city aquarium becomes a surprisingly popular weather guide.
A public aquarium in Hikari City has started a strange new weather service.
The service is led by a fish named Maru. Every morning, Maru swims to one of three colored rings in his tank.
Blue means sunny. White means cloudy. Gray means rain.
The aquarium staff say Maru has been correct four days in a row.
"We do not call him a scientist," one worker said. "But he does look very confident."
Local students now check Maru's report before leaving for school. One student said she trusted the fish more than her weather app.
There is one problem. On Tuesday, Maru chose all three rings and then hid behind a rock.
Staff later explained that the weather was sunny, cloudy, and rainy on the same day.
The city is not using Maru's report officially. However, the aquarium has become more popular.
Maru was given extra food, but he refused to comment.
