An office printer at a small design company has caused an unexpected workplace discussion.

The printer suddenly stopped during a budget meeting and printed one page. The page said the machine felt “underappreciated.”

Employees first believed it was a joke. Then the printer refused to copy anything labeled urgent.

“It printed the lunch menu without any problem,” one worker said. “But it ignored our sales report.”

The manager called the situation inconvenient but meaningful. He said the office may have depended on the printer too much.

The company has introduced a new policy. Employees must say thank you after large print jobs. They must also avoid hitting the paper tray.

A technician examined the machine and found no unusual software. However, he admitted the printer sounded calmer after receiving a sticky note that said “nice work.”

Some employees now believe other machines are watching the case carefully.

The coffee maker has begun blinking whenever someone says Monday.

The company will hold a meeting about machine morale next week. The printer has requested that the agenda be printed somewhere else.
