A library at Minami Junior High School has added a new button. It is called the Whisper Button.

The button sits on the front desk. When the room becomes noisy, the librarian presses it.

Then a soft voice says, "Please use a library voice."

Students say the button is useful. It is not scary, but everyone becomes quiet quickly.

One student said, "It sounds like my grandmother, so I listen."

There is one funny problem. Some students now want to press the button themselves.

The librarian made a new rule. Students may press it only once a day.

The school is thinking about another button for the cafeteria. That button may say, "Please chew first."
