The Blue Ticket
A bright station story about a blue ticket, a small mistake, and a helpful friend.
Sora and Emi were going to the science museum on Saturday.
They met at Aoba Station at ten o'clock.
Sora bought two train tickets from the machine.
One ticket was white, but the other ticket was blue.
"Why is this one blue?" Emi asked.
Sora looked at the ticket and frowned.
"Maybe it is a special ticket."
They went to the platform, but the station gate did not open for Sora.
A station worker came over.
"May I see your ticket?" she asked.
Sora gave her the blue ticket.
The worker smiled kindly.
"This is not a train ticket. This is a ticket for the bicycle parking area."
Sora's face turned red.
"I bought the wrong one."
Emi did not laugh.
"It is okay. The machines are close together," she said.
The worker showed them the right machine.
This time, Sora read the screen slowly.
He bought the correct ticket.
The gate opened with a small sound.
On the train, Emi held the blue ticket.
"Can I keep this?" she asked.
"Why?"
"It is proof that our trip started with an adventure."
Sora laughed.
"A very small adventure."
At the museum, they saw rockets, robots, and a huge model of the moon.
But Emi still liked the blue ticket best.
"Next time," she said, "let's buy only train tickets."
Sora nodded.
"Good plan."
